Dice
Dice are the central combat mechanic of Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles. Each die has six faces that determine the possible effects it can have when rolled.
Types of dice
A die can be one of six types: starter, safe, balanced, risky, epic, and hex.
- Starter
- Each Oracle has a specific set of dice they start with. These dice usually have weaker effects, one corruption action, and some of that Oracle's signature actions.
- Safe
- Usually on the weaker side, but have either no negative effects or have mixed but consistent effects.
- Balanced
- Usually have a mix of positive and negative effects of moderate strength.
- Risky
- Mostly negative effects, but with more powerful positive effects.
- Epic
- Very powerful positive effects. Epic dice can only be obtained from bosses, or rare epic dice nodes.
- Hex
- Dice that contain debuffs to the Oracle when rolled, usually with one face being weak Purification and another face being to destroy the die. Hex dice are usually not permanently part of a deck, but instead added only for the current battle by some negative face of another die.
